RED OVERPRINT: 'A.O.' on Rouletted 2d vermilion, rouletting on all sides, circle-in-bars cancel & GPO cds of AU3/68. Rated RRRRR: unrecorded unused by Ron Butler. [This is the only dated example recorded by Don Pearce]
RED OVERPRINT: 'A.O.' on Perf 11½-12½ 4d dull purple from the right of the sheet with marginal vertical watermark lines, neat GPO cds of MY15/68. Superb. Rated RRRRR. Far superior to the 'Sir Humphrey'/'Tamiami' example that sold for $2755. [Date range 15.5.1868 to 16.9.1868]
RED OVERPRINT: 'A.O.' on Rouletted 6d ultramarine, rouletting largely clear of the design on all sides, indistinct GPO cds. Unlisted used by Ron Butler, and the only recorded example, so it should be rated RRRRRR. Ex Colonel Napier (III). The unused 'Besancon' example with minor defects sold for SFr1935.
BLUE OVERPRINT: 'A.O.' on Perf 11½-12½ 1d yellow-green, tiny surface abrasions at the top otherwise superb, GPO cds of DE3/68. Rated RRRR: unrecorded unused. Ex Brown and Colonel Napier (III). RPSofL Certificate (1965). [The only date recorded by Don Pearce]
BLUE OVERPRINT: 'A.O.' on De La Rue Crown/SA Rouletted 2d orange, rouletting at the sides & cut from the sheet except at right to preserve the design, large-part o.g. Rated RRRR. The 'Besancon' unused & used examples - both with minor defects - were offered as one lot & sold for SFr1695. [It is possible that the horizontal rouletting was omitted]
BLUE OVERPRINT: 'A.O.' on De La Rue Crown/SA Rouletted 2d orange, crudely separated at right, tied to small piece by GPO cds of FE5/69. Rated RRR. It is possible that the rouletting at right was omitted. The fact this is the finest example acquired by Don Pearce indicates that it is underrated. [Date range 5.2.1869 to 2.2.1870]
BLUE OVERPRINT: 'A.O.' on Rouletted 6d dull blue, rouletting at left & base and cut from the sheet at top & right to preserve the design, large-part o.g. Superb. Rated RRRR: unrecorded used by Ron Butler.
