This cover was part of "The Booth Find" that produced Slater covers Nos. 7 and 8. They were found among the papers of Dr. C. Booth papers in an old trunk in April 1926. Slater was shown the covers by Philip H. Ward Jr. at the New York 1926 International Stamp Exhibition. Instead, it was meant to keep a messenger honest. When a bank employee was sent with the mail and cash to pay the postage, this mark alerted the postal clerk that the mail was to be prepaid.
