FRANCE COLLECTION AND ACCUMULATION Thousands of mint and used stamps housed in albums, stockbooks, glassines and stockcards. Apparently, this country was the owners true love since, it is the largest of his many collections and most varied. There are two Davo albums. The first contains a mostly used collection from 1849 to about 1945 and the second album is a sparsely filled French Southern and Antarctic Territories. Next is a group of seven stockbooks of various sizes. One of these is entirely filled with hundreds of used 1892, 20c Blue on Bluish, "Napoleon" (Scott #26). Several stockbooks are exclusively used duplicates meticulously arranged and identified with a little paper tag indicating the catalog number. Perhaps the most valuable stockbook is entirely mint, mostly 20th century issues . We spotted several better items here including mint #130, #348 (NH), B11, B38, and B66-67. Finally, there are new issues in glassines that the owner never had time to mount in albums. In this group we spotted FSAT #C106-107 (x10). A sharp-eyed viewer could easily spot other worthwhile material lurking.
