302   image1863 Treason Letter Dated March 10th, 1863 from Corbins Neck, VA to Hon. James A Seddon, Sec of War; signed and written by Officers of 42nd Va Regiment (Capt. Richardson and many others) complaining about the promotion of B.W. Leigh, an outsider, to lead their regiment. Amazing reply chain letter is on the same paper incl Brig. General Jones reply his reasons for not hiring from within then states that Capt. Richardson is under arrest for the writing of the original letter. 307   image20 Glass negatives produced by Dietz & Ashbrook in 1925 used by August Dietz in his pivotal book "The Postal Service of The Confederate States of America" (1929) - these negatives are the only known surviving items from the original work (Dietz' other notes were all destroyed). Negatives include some rarites incl the one cent denomination, engraved and printed in London though never placed in circulation, amongst others all detailed in full inventory of negatives and book references - an incredible and truly unique collection of philatelic history (Image) Estimate 15,000.00
