1912 (June 22) Rhein / Main Airmail Flight, Darmstadt (Sieger 11 var.), brown card with 10pf special stamp and 5pf Germania tied by Darmstadt c.d.s.; on the reverse is an entry for the promotional contest to guess the meaning of the initials "E. EL. P"; this contestant, one Georg Walther, guessed (incorrectly) "Eleonore Ernst Ludwig Post"., Very Fine and quite rare., signed A. Falk. Michel II.
The actual meaning, as announced, was "ExEst Luft Post" (It is from Air Mail), which, it is theorized, was made to fit after the fact, when that phrase was determined to be the only answer submitted by a single contestant. (Image)
