1841 to 1860's 1d reds Imperforate and Perforated: a holding comprising over 600 covers, singles, multiples up to 20 on a cover, plus thousands and thousands of used on album and stock pages, organized by letters, plated and many not so organized. A true wonder.
Used to Shanghai: 1855-60, 2d blue on bluish, Large Crown watermark, perf 14, plate 5 together with 1857 two-wing margined copies 4d rose-carmine, tied by "88 LONDON E.C. SP10 60 duplex cancels on 1860 prices current (9d rate) bearing manuscript "via Marseille" big red 1 d credit handstamp, on reverse HONG KONG OC11 60 transit. Very pretty and rare. (SG 34 or 23, 66 )
Used to Canada: 1863 Auction poster (299 x 425mm) folded and mailed to Toronto franked with 1857 1d rose red, Large Crown watermark, perf 14 Strip of Three, well centered and excellent perforations all around, tied by rectangular or barred "67" of CARLUKE DE 12 1863 c.d.s. some reinforced separations, but an excellent usage. very fine .
