1919 $5 green War Savings Stamp on Certificate, the very fine appearing stamp (fault at bottom left) is tied to a folded "Dominion of Canada War-Savings Certificate" by a Trochu Alberta c.d.s. dated DEC.4.1919. The document, once owned by Frederick A. Hess has space for 10 stamps and shows a lavishly illustrated beaver in wreath with slogan "Work, Save, Fight for Canada". One of the three double-sided pages is detached and all pages have small faults, and all have a heart-shaped tear. There is a small newspaper ad pinned to the detached page, which appears to be an old ad from Bileski offering $50 for undamaged copies of this stamp way back when. A rare document. (Image)
