image Japan, Excellent, Mostly Mint Collection, 1872-1975. In a single Minkus country album; the earliest issues (through #71 from our review) used, with cancels ranging from botas to Telegraphs, followed by a largely parallel mint and used (if incomplete) holding through about 1935, after which the collection runs mint and largely uninterrupted through 1975; much of interest, including complete booklet panes #96a, 99b and 103a; #152-154 (#154 never hinged!), a mint and used sets of Earthquake Emergency issues including used vertical pair of 20s and strip of three 10s), 163-166 (#165 never hinged), Old Die Fuji & Dear parallel (mint less #175, used complete), plus mint (unless noted) #188, 190-193, 198-201, First Showa series less 10s value but with coils (#276-279, the 14s never hinged), most Parks sheets (with folders), #378a, 381a, 385a, 422a (never hinged), 423, 448b (mint and used), 456-457, 479a, 480-497, 498 in bilingual presentation folder plus a second never hinged, 522 mint and used, miniature sheets 509a//521c never hinged, Lottery sheets, full booklets, plus all other regular and commemorative issues; #C1-C2 never hinged (signed Stolow), M2-M3 used, a mint sampling of early Offices in China, a nicely filled Ryukyus collection, plus a National Parks souvenir folder and a souvenir booklet from the 1947 Paris UPU Congress with stamps included; a really pretty collection, fresh and clean throughout with much to commend, Very Fine overall, be sure to say konichiwa to this one.

image Japan, Collection and Stock, 1871-1980's. With 6,000-8,000 dealer "102" counter cards (some several stamps to the card and many of which were priced long ago and need to be updated) full of issues along with five albums, three of which are Scott Specialty, one on White Ace pages of mostly postage issues and one Japanese Philatelic Society album, containing some early used, some perf and imperf dragons, early Cherry Blossoms, Koban, Chrysanthemum, mint 148-51, 155-58, 166, 190-93, 198-201, 283a, 288a, 400a, 421a, 422 (2), 423, 479 (2), 576a and 594a, great diversity, with interesting early classical issues with various interesting cancels to the modern postage issues that quickly add up in value; a few typical minor faults among the classical issues, generally Fine to Very Fine.

image Japan, Old-Time Collection, 1871-1981. In a clean Scott Specialty album on various pages to 1981 with later issues running through about 1991 on homemade pages; mix of mint and used throughout, earlies mostly used as expected, with post-war a mostly mint run; includes Airmails and Offices, postal stationery, cut squares (several overprinted "Mihon"), a number of early 1950s First Day Covers including miniature sheets, plus a very nice array of Revenues; 19th and early 20th century issues offer a range of cancels (including botas, crossroads, and various numbers and daters, plus the occasional telegraph); note a Fuji-Hakone souvenir sheet, a number of Lottery sheets, Expo '70 booklets, etc., etc.; some faults on earlies, otherwise Fine to Very Fine with better throughout, worth a look.
