(4) Specimen notes incl 3rd Series 5¢ F-1238-SP, 10¢ F-1251-SP, 25¢ F-1272-SP & 50¢ F-1324-SP. Some casual research indicates that it is not always clear what constitutes a "specimen" from a "proof" so we'll leave that distinction to any prospective bidders. These notes are printed on the face only - the backs are blank. They are printed on very thick paper with no evidence of having been affixed to a fractional currency shield at any time. Further, the bronzing that characterizes many of the 3rd series notes is missing entirely. Surely an interesting lot with notes that are worthy of some deeper investigation. (Image)
