The following 13 lots represents the Dr. Julius Szekrenyes lifetime collection of all different Canada town cancels. This is the most detailed study we have ever seen. The focus is on the wide range of post-1935 canceling devices including split-rings, cds, duplex, MOON, MOTO, POCON, rollers, registration markings, special event cancels. It also includes the machine cancels noting International, Universal, Perfect, Pitney-Bowes, Columbia, IPS, Toshiba, and Klussendorf plus 2 extra volumes of machine slogans and an extensive 3 volume collection of Ink-Jet cancels. The collection is sorted by province then alphabetically by town in 43 large albums with a total of 8150 covers and over 22,000 cut squares. Note a huge number of closed post offices and strength in the period after Retail Post Offices where introduced. Many of these had very short life spans and cancels are etremely hard to find.
