6073 imageGERMAN COLONIES - SOUTH WEST AFRICA 1915 (28 JAN) RARE ROSSING MANUSCRIPT CANCEL South African Forces stampless postcard endorsed 'Feldpost' to Outjo showing a superb example of the extremely rare 'ROSSING' manuscript cancel altered by hand over Swakopmund date stamp type 144 (Friedemann type FP. 7), with full message in German on the reverse. A translation for the message tells that these cards were found in the saddlebag of a runaway English horse, and that the 'Tommies' were not far away. In good condition, with GROBE guarantee on reverse. One of the highest rated items in the Friedemann handbook, and quite possibly unique.

5950 imageGERMAN STATES - BAVARIA 1849-1922 COMPREHENSIVE MINT AND USED collection, very carefully displayed on old self designed album pages, with plenty of boxes for variants of plate numbers, perforation,watermark, overprint, shades, very often filled (not necessarily with the correct shade). The collection is a bit sparse in the classical period, almost complete in later years, with minor duplication. Includes plate number study of the 1852 and 1862 issues, 1914 Ludwig set used, 1919 Volkstaat complete mint and used, Freistaat mint and used, officials (including 'E' perfins) and dues, etc.Most of the stamps are in very fine condition, with minor toning in a few. 5981 imageGERMANY - 1850-1925 COMPREHENSIVE MINT AND USED collection, very carefully displayed on old self designed album pages, with plenty of boxes for variants of watermark, overprint, shades, very often filled (not necessarily with the correct shade). The collection is a bit sparse in the Imperial period, almost complete in later years, with minor duplication and with some extras such as mint or used se-tenant and tete-beche pairs, most representative stamps are a reasonable copy of the 1923 rouletted 50 Milliarden Mark (Mi 330B) with almost complete dated LEIPZIG postmark, the complete 1921/22 used set with wavy lines watermark (Wz 2, cat. € 1600), all the inflation period sets, official stamps including 20 Milliarden Mi 87 used, etc. Most of the stamps are in very fine condition, with minor toning in a few. Totally unpicked by us, there must be many useful pieces in it!! (1200+)
