7751 imageSOUTH AFRICA - 1910-2003 MINT & USED COLLECTION in three albums & some loose cards / pages, we see a slightly untidy collection full of better items and good runs of issues, largely in order, Union period is mostly used, though we note 1947-54 5s mint, also see some useful Officials incl. 1950-4 1s blackish brown centre very fine mint, plus some pairs on an album page, most KGVI period commemoratives & War Effort issues in mint pairs / units, continues with useful later run, main strength lies in RSA (post 1961) issues, where we see a wide range of definitives, note good NHM & used ranges of 1993-7 Wildlife, 1997-2000 redrawn Wildlife & 2000 Flora & Fauna defins with additional printings etc., collection also includes strong run of commemoratives & miniature sheets, with later commems in sheetlets of 10. So much to look through, mixed condition, though RSA is generally fine (many 1000s). 7753 imageSOUTH AFRICA - 1910-97 VERY QUIRKY COLLECTION definitely not what we normally encounter, we see a neatly written up collection, but rather than slavishly filling each catalogue number with an example of that stamp, the collector has taken an approach of buying what interested them, hence their are many highlights such as 1910 2½d in a mint block of 4, 1913-24 values to 10s used & coils set with 1d used on postcard, 1925 Airmail set with 3d used on airmailed cover, 1926 4d triangles - both languages used on cover, 2nd January 1926 (second day of issue) postmarks, 1929 Airmail set on cover and 1s on illustrated advert cover, 1930-44 ½d coil strip of 8 (SG 42a), 1935 Silver Jubilee mint set plus a few varieties, 1936 ½d JIPEX cover, 1937 Coronation with blocks & varieties, 1938 covers with Kruger National Park labels tied by cancels, later RSA mint issues neatly presented with covers, also see a few covers, note 1937 GB "Three Kings" cover to SA, then reposted with additional 4d defin on reverse, couple of Marion Island covers, small range of Cinderellas, as well as ranges of used Union period defins in pairs. Generally good to fine, enjoyable pages to look through (approx 120 stamps + 55 pairs + over 20 blocks / MS + over 35 covers / postcards). Some very light age marks, this leg is the rarest with just 179 cards carried. (Image1)
