6907 imageMAURITIUS - 1853-55 "PENOE" VARIETY 2d blue imperf "POST PAID", early impression, showing the "PENOE" for PENCE variety from position 7 on the sheet, SG 8a, used with missing and poorly repaired lower right hand corner otherwise sound with good colour and excellent engraving with a large part of the design sharp and clear as should be for these early impressions. There is a pre-printing crease running horizontally across the stamp, but is still a very useful example of this rare stamp. Cat £17,000. (Image1)
