Unchecked in any detail (offered as received at our offices), quickly looking through we see useful early 20th Century ranges with a degree of specialisation that inc 1900 thick & thin "V" pairs, ORC 1900 sets inc ½d & 2½d multiples with "no stop" after Colony varieties, useful mint ranges inc overprints/surcharges. 7741 imageSOUTH AFRICA -COLS & REPS - TRANSVAAL ENSCHEDE REPRINTS 1884 Vurtheim issue, 1d value in ELEVEN IMPERFORATE BLOCKS OF FOUR, each in a DIFFERENT COLOUR, on thin, ungummed paper, colours close to issued values, except for yellow. 1986 "Transvaal Philately" by Maj. Ian B. Matthews et al, states (under Trials and proofs section) "Late in 1884 Enschede held a printing exhibition in Haarlem and colour trials of this issue were on display. These trials were all printed from the 1d plate and appeared in sixteen different colours... 312 sheets of 60 of these colour trials were produced... A number of these sheets were destroyed..." Very scarce, seldom available (11 blocks). (Image1)
