Top "American Bank Note Company" Imprint and plate no. 405 block of ten, on original card backing and so free of the India paper defects often seen, large margins, Very Fine, very rare with only four plate blocks recorded by essay-proof specialist James E. Lee, the only way to identify this as an India plate proof from the American Bank Note Co. printing is if it is part of a plate block, this India paper proof is listed in Scott as a single and a block of four but is unpriced, the plate blocks are unlisted (though the equally rare 190P4 is priced at $4,500.00 as a plate block of twelve) (Image)
