1739   Great Britain Substantial Collection Balance. In a Stanley Gibbons album and a stockbook, the album goes to 1967, over 35 Penny Blacks including two that appear unused, two pairs, and nine covers, some varieties, such as an inverted watermark and one with a scarce Plymouth Maltese Cross cancel, other Line-Engraved similarly collected, with unused, used, multiples, such as original-gum strip of four of 18412p Blue (cut in at top), cancels (including 1844-type cancel on 1840 2p Blue) and varieties, the Surface Printing issues are strong, with many unused stamps cataloguing hundreds or thousands of pounds each, plus used Shilling and Pound high values (two copies of the1882-82 £1 value), later Queen Victoria high values, King Edward VII complete unused including both shades of the £1, and a useful array of later issues, also Postage Dues and Officials (a couple with certificates), the stockbook also contains better items, including several multiples and duplicated issues, particularly used high values of the late Queen Victoria issues and King Edward VII, early issues in mixed quality as one would expect, though many were bought at auction or retail individually and are in better quality than often found, the total catalogue value must be enormous, and the resale potential is also quite high

1740 og Great Britain Unused Collection. To 2001 in three Scott albums with slipcases, collected by Stanley Gibbons numbers, some Line Engraved stamps, a good portion of the value is in Surface Printing, which was collected by different plate numbers, in this section there are many stamps cataloguing hundred of pounds each, with several over £1,000, King Edward VII and King George V collected by all the different shades, and a solid run of QEII stamps, also Postage Dues and Officials, some varieties, early stamps in mixed condition and generally Fine or better appearance, later stamps mainly Fine-Very Fine, most of the modern Mint N.H., 41 certificates accompany

1741   Great Britain Collection. To 1951 in a Scott album, some of the collector's recent purchases had not yet been mounted in the album and are still on sales cards, contains not only straightforward unused and used stamps, but also multiples and varieties, includes three Penny Blacks (one on cover), other useful Line-Engraved such as 1841 2p block of four, two unused Mulreadys, plus a 1p Envelope used on May 7, 1840 (SG £2,600), Surface Printed contains some better unused, and used high values including an 10sh Gray-Green, late Queen Victoria and King Edward VII unused high values, excellent run of the Seahorse stamps unused, £1 P.U.C. both unused and used, some Officials, early issues in typical mixed quality, the condition improves in the later years, overall a worthwhile collection with high catalogue and resale value

1742   Great Britain Collection. To 1966 in a Lindner hingeless album, 19th Century mostly used, with useful selections of Line Engraved, Embossed, and Surface Printed stamps, with particular value in the 1878-83 shilling and pound values, including three 10sh, £1 on Bluish Paper, and the £5 Orange, while some have small faults, they were purchased individually at auction and are in better condition than often found, starting in 1883 there is some unused, including a set of the 1883-84 Issue with fresh colors, all of the Queen Victoria "long" stamps used, King Edward VII to £1 unused, and just about complete thereafter, extra careful inspection is needed, as there is often an additional example hinged under the stamp in plastic, sometimes on better stamps such as the £1 King Edward VII, where a used example is hinged under the unused, mixed condition, through the quality improves as the collection goes along, QEII issues mostly Mint N.H., Fine-Very Fine appearance, as noted meticulous viewing is required to find all of the value
