1469 og ImageCHINA, People's Republic, Northeast China, 1947, East Liaoning $20.00 on $1.00 Blue, Pair, One with Surcharge Omitted (Yang NE261a). Horizontal pair, right stamp with surcharge omitted, without gum as issued, fresh color and paper

VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE ERROR OF NORTHEAST CHINA THAT IS MISSING FROM EVEN THE MOST ADVANCED COLLECTIONS.

The normal surcharged stamp (Yang NE261) itself is very scarce. Catalogued at only $250.00 in Yang (1996 - the most recent edition), it regularly brings multiples of that when offered at auction. The error pair is almost never offered, as even some of the most comprehensive collections of the Liberated Areas ever formed, such as Mizuhara and Furusho, did not have an example.

With 2006 R.P.S. certificate. Yang (1996) $10,000.00 (Image)
