FINE APPEARANCE. ONLY SIX EXAMPLES OF THIS CANAL ZONE RARITY ARE RECORDED.

The authors of Canal Zone Stamps record only six copies. They state that one is possibly unused (it may have a light cancel) and all others are confirmed as used. We have offered only one other, in 2009.

1822 og ImageCANAL ZONE, 1904, 1c Green, Double Ovpt. (9d, CZSG 9d). Large part original gum, deep rich color, clear doubling of the overprint, indentations on gum not mentioned on accompanying certificate

VERY FINE. ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES OF THE ONE-CENT 1904 MAP ISSUE WITH DOUBLE OVERPRINT.

According to Canal Zone Stamps, ten unused and eight used copies are recorded. Most of the unused copies have defects, including marks on the face, creases or other serious faults. The example offered here is in far better condition than most.

1823 og ImageCANAL ZONE, 1907, 1c Green & Black, Imperforate Horizontally (22c, CZSG 22c). Vertical strip of three with horizontal perforations at bottom only, slightly disturbed original gum, deep rich colors, wide margins, rounded corner at bottom left not affecting error pair

VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THIS IMPERFORATE HORIZONTALLY ERROR. ONLY 20 PAIRS WERE ISSUED, AND MOST HAVE BEEN LOST TO PHILATELY.

According to Canal Zone Stamps, the top five rows of one pane were missing the horizontal perforations. Evidently most of the errors were used, as only three unused pairs and two strips of three (both with perforations at bottom) are known.
