1875-79 Bank Note Co. Issues (Scott 178-190)
Lot Sym. Lot Description
1322 nh Image2c Vermilion (178). Mint N.H., brilliant color, choice centering with well-proportioned margins

EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1875 2-CENT VERMILION, SCOTT 178. RARE IN SUCH SUPERB CONDITION.

A search of our computerized records indicates that the 2c 1875 Issue is exceedingly difficult to find in high-grade Mint N.H. condition, despite its modest Scott Catalogue value. The example offered here is certainly one of the finest extant.

With 2001 and 2007 P.F. certificates (XF 90). By way of comparison, only one has achieved this grade in the P.S.E. Population Report with two higher (at 95). We have not sold any of the P.S.E.-graded examples since 2008. (Image)
