One vertically split, clearly-defined grills, vibrant color, neat strike of target cancel, Fine and rare, with 1995 A.P.S. certificate, accompanied by note with analysis from student Ronald A. Burns who notes vertically split grills are scarcer than horizontally split (Scott Catalogue does not distinguish between the two), this is the only example of the double grill we have encountered with one split, listed but unpriced in Scott, Scott Retail for double grill (Image)

EXTREMELY FINE GEM USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1870 6-CENT NATIONAL BANK NOTE COMPANY ISSUE WITH AN I GRILL AND A BLUE CANCEL. A BEAUTIFUL STAMP.

With 2016 P.F. certificate (XF 90). By way of comparison, only three grade 90 in the P.S.E. Population Report which is the highest awarded. Scott Catalogue lists but does not price this issue with a blue cancel. Scott Retail as normal cancel (Image)
