643   New York N.Y., 5c Black, Balance of the Jeremiah Farrington Collection (9X1, 9X1a, 9X1b). Exhibit pages containing a total of 48 stamps, the balance of the noteworthy collection formed by the late Jeremiah Farrington and sold through Ivy, Shreve & Mader in 1992 (this lot kept intact), mostly off-cover singles but also two off-cover pairs and three covers (one with a pair), includes several which appear unused (one with P.F. certificate), initials include "ACM", "A CM" and "A.C.M.", the pages are ordered by positions (with blow ups of the details of each) and this balance contains a wonderful range with 34 of the 40 possible positions, most have four margins, cancels include pen and also a number of handstamps, some small flaws to be expected, overall Fine-Very Fine, an outstanding group, Scott Retail as all No. 9X1 more than $24,000.00
