Superb United States Stamps and Private Die Proprietary continued...

Private Die Medicine Stamps: D thru L continued...
Lot Sym. Lot Description
520   ImageT. J. Husband, 2c Violet, Old Paper (RS139a). Ample to huge margins including right sheet margin, wonderful depth of color, completely sound

VERY FINE AND CHOICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SOUND EXAMPLE OF THE T. J. HUSBAND 2-CENT VIOLET PROPRIETARY ISSUE WE HAVE OFFERED IN AT LEAST 25 YEARS.

This is a very scarce issue, with only 25 recorded in the Aldrich book. He lists 16 as faulty but we suspect the number is higher than that as this is the only sound example we have encountered since keeping computerized records in 1993. Not only is it the only sound example we have offered, it also has the best overall margins (and the only sheet margin) of any example we have seen -- an exceptional stamp which would be difficult to improve upon.

With 1986 P.F. certificate (Image)
