FINE AND RARE SOUND EXAMPLE OF THE HALF-ANNA BLUE "SCINDE DAWK".
The "Scinde Dawk" name is simply because they were used in the Sindh Province and the word "Dawk" is an anglicized spelling of the Hindustani word for "Post". The -1/2a Red (SG S3; Scott A3) was first issued on July 1, 1852 as a wafer wax seal - the first postage stamp of Asia. Due to the obvious shortfalls of a wafer seal, the White and Blue (SG S1-S2; Scott A1-A2) stamps were printed and embossed for use.
With 2019 B.P.A. certificate. Scott $11,000.00 (Image)

FINE APPEARING EXAMPLE OF THE HIGHLY COLLECTABLE RED "SCINDE DAWK". A MAJOR RARITY AND THE FIRST STAMP ISSUED IN ASIA.
The "Scinde Dawk" name is simply because they were used in the Sindh Province and the word "Dawk" is an anglicized spelling of the Hindustani word for "Post". The -1/2a Red Scinde Dawk was the first stamp issued in all of Asia. Because it was embossed on a wax wafer it had a tendency to crack (and often disintegrate). It was deemed unacceptable and quickly replaced with the white and blue stamps embossed on paper.
With 2019 B.P.A. certificate. Scott $40,000.00. SG £32,000 (Image)
