letter to Mazatlan, Mexico, manuscript "Paid 25" (cents) for double 12-1/2c intra-West Coast rate applied at the San Francisco post office in its distinctive magenta ink of the period, carried on the PMSC Panama on June 20,
offloaded at San Blas, an intermediate stop on the way to Panama, entered the Mexican mails with bold strike of red "San Blas" in script framed handstamp, red "2" Mexican due handstamp, manuscript "P Steamer" at top and "Julio
