Clear strike of blue integral-rate circular datestamp on 1841 folded letter to Middleburg O., with gorgeous watercolor illustration of train and scenery with sign reading "$1,000.00 penalty for firing guns off within 1 mile of the railroad, for fear of frightening the locomotive", missing part of contents but the sender does mention painting and "received your paper, the sketch was delightful", also includes pencil sketch of a figure with cane and animal on address side, some toning and wear, still Very Fine, one of the most elaborate hand-drawn covers we have encountered (Image)
