Treasury Dept., Engineers, C.S.A. imprint on U.S. star die entire with pair No. 7, others, two covers bearing No. 13, wallpaper cover, as stated the condition is very mixed with faults to be found throughout -- otherwise these would all be individual lots, Fine appearing and worthwhile group

661 c ImageConfederate and Civil War Cover Balance. 24 covers plus three State of Alabama script notes, lithographs include No. 1 vertical strip of four, pen cancelled and tied by manuscript postmark to Vicksburg Miss., scarce double-rate use with a strip of four, also No. 4 on cover, six No. 6-7 covers including one turned from a used 3c U.S. Nesbitt entire, another with a strange docketing "Hand Disguised", Ten No. 11-12 covers including one nice with huge margins, finally five covers franked with U.S. No. 65, including one with U.S. Christian Commission corner card and Old Point Comfort Va. double-circle datestamp addressed to Meriden Conn., no censor or other flag-of-truce markings but could have been a through-the-lines use, one prisoner-of-war cover from Kentucky to Camp Douglas, two on multi-colored Union Patriotics from Port Royal S.C. and Norfolk Va.
