FINE AND RARE. ONE OF NINE RECORDED EXAMPLES OF THE ST. LOUIS 2-CENT BLACK TYPE II CARRIER STAMP.

Scott began classifying the St. Louis 2c Black Types I and II as 8LB1 and 8LB2 approximately 10 years ago (they were previously listed together under 8LB1). Our census of this rare carrier issue contains 11 unused and 3 used stamps (none is known on cover) of both types. Nine of the stamps in our census are Type II. This is the first example of either type we have offered since 2006.
