Packe's 27 Jan 78" indicating the letter was sent from Packe's farm on West Falkland, light vertical file fold not affecting the markings, opened a little rough at top

VERY FINE. AN ATTRACTIVE STRIKE OF THE RARE FALKLAND ISLANDS 1869 RED FRANK. ONLY 23 ARE RECORDED.

This was carried on the Sparrow Hawk to Montevideo and then to Southampton on the Mondego.
