Revenues
Lot Sym. Lot Description
1339   Image3c Playing Cards, Imperforate (R17a). Large margins all around, deep rich color, unusual slightly dry printing, neat "April" manuscript cancel

EXTREMELY FINE. A RARE SOUND EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT IMPERFORATE PLAYING CARDS WITH LARGE MARGINS ALL AROUND. ONE OF THE RAREST FIRST ISSUE REVENUE STAMPS, ESPECIALLY IN SOUND FOUR-MARGIN CONDITION.

This issue is exceedingly difficult to find in sound condition. The majority have faults to a lesser or greater degree, or smaller margins than this example possesses.

With 1986 and 2003 P.F. certificates (Image)

1341   Image$10.00 Probate of Will, Imperforate (R96a). Large margins all around, intense shade and impression, unobtrusive February 21, 1863 manuscript cancel

EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF THE $10.00 PROBATE OF WILL IMPERFORATE ISSUE.

Evidence points to an imperforate supply of 856, as eleven sheets (792 others) were returned for perforating. They were first delivered Dec. 18, 1862, so this is an early use. It is rare with such large margins in sound condition.
