VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE GROUP OF THE SASKATCHEWAN TELEPHONE COMPANY STAMPS. ONLY ONE COMPLETE SET EXISTS.

In 1900, the Saskatchewan Telephone Company issued five stamps, the four denominations in this lot, plus a $1.00. Only one other example exists of the 10c, 15c and 50c. Three other 25c copies are known. The $1.00 stamp is unique.

An important rarity for the collector of Canadian revenues or telegraph stamps of the world.

Born, in two albums, lacking the rarest items, but otherwise very well-filled, mainly unused, but does incl. some of the more hard to find used stamps, incl. six different Canadian Northern Telegraph Co., numerous Canadian Pacific Railways incl. watermarked stamps and booklet panes, Great North Western Telegraph Co. is complete (some unused and used), plus 20 booklet panes, Grand Trunk Pacific Railways has nine stamps incl. three different used, Canadian National Telegraphs is complete incl. 1923 Unshaded, plus a couple proofs, solid section of Bell Telephone Co., with first stamp both unused and used, plus the long stamps incl. watermarked and a few panes, and many of the small franks, Provinces incl. a couple Alberta, extensive British Columbia incl. 30 of the undated franks, plus the small franks in singles and booklet panes (incl. a few booklet pane proofs), some Manitoba, and Saskatchewan, with small size franks incl. varieties, the condition will be slightly mixed, most unused with original gum, Fine-Very Fine appearance throughout, a most impressive balance of this under-appreciated collecting area

Born Estate, housed in six binders, with representation from a wide range of telegraph companies, well over 200 used envelopes with company corner card (either printed or embossed), many with manuscript markings ("Paid", etc.), but several with stamps cancelled as well (incl. a few with U.S. stamps), plus many with the associated telegraph, mostly 19th Century, but some go as late as 1962, slightly mixed quality as expected, Fine-Very Fine appearance, a fabulous lot, the likes of which won't be seen offered at auction any time soon

Over 130 used envelopes with telegraph company corner card, 1850s-1890s, excellent variety, with Montreal Telegraph Co. having the most, the majority have manuscript markings ("Paid" etc.), earliest is 1853 with printed corner card of Montreal Telegraph Co. and Darlington datestamp, also a similar corner card addressed to Maine, 24 of the envelopes have stamps tied, incl. 5c Beaver on 1866 cover with Montreal Telegraph Co. corner card, many of the corner cards are quite elaborate, often embossed, in several cases the envelopes are accompanied by the actual telegraphs that were used, plus there are other telegraphs and related ephemera, much is believed to be ex Jarrett, a fascinating lot that has not been on the market in decades
