pieces of period ephemera. The covers include all-over illustrated designs, cameo types, and corner cards, predominately from the 1880s-1915, with the earliest noted from the 1850s. Highlights include an 1858 cover with St. Louis "Oyster & Fruit
House" corner card and bold "FREE" handstamp addressed to U.S. Senator Anthony Kennedy of Maryland; an 1868 3c issue used on Baltimore advertising cover for "packers of hermetically sealed oysters, fruits"; and a striking all-over advertising cover

LOTS AND COLLECTIONS UNITED STATES - Covers and Postal History 1863-68 2c Blackjacks, specialized group of 90+ covers, circulars, and FLs, mostly franked with Scott 73, highlights include a legal envelope from St. Louis bearing a strip of three of
the 85B Z Grill, two covers with 87 E Grill stamps, and one with 93 F Grill, two compelling foreign destinations, one to Germany with 1861 24c and another to Switzerland paired with the 1866 15c Lincoln, both showcasing the Blackjack in
mixed-franking international mail. A diverse selection of advertising covers, business corner cards, and auxiliary markings adds depth, along with examples used on documents and legal papers. A range of 2c used and unused Jackson entires, including
U46, U50, and U52, plus hundreds of used 2c Blackjack stamps, featuring an exceptional array of cancelations, ranging from simple targets of different colors to fancy and geometric designs. A block of four and a strip of three are present, with a
useful number of E and F Grill examples mixed in. Several unused stamps are included, most notably a n.h. sheet margin example of No.73, with 2002 PFC. Three plate proofs are present, along with a range of noted paper and printing varieties, offering
research potential and value for the specialist. Some faults to be expected with a collection of this nature but overall, a thoughtfully built and wide-ranging collection showcasing the richness and complexity of the 2c Blackjack. An ideal foundation
for a future exhibit, in-depth study, or enhancement to a specialized 1861–68 Issue collection. In-person viewing recommended to fully appreciate the depth of this collection
