909 E   imageZeppelin Flights. 1915 (29 Oct) picture postcard (Warszawa) sent by a Zeppelin LZ-39 crew member, addressed to Plauen, with clear "Kommando LZ 39 Briefstempel" strike, also sender's "Warschau, Luftschiffhafen" manuscript notation alongside, with typewritten description adhered at left, fine and interesting Air Post forerunner (LZ 39 was transferred to the Eastern Front in the second half of 1915. On her second sortie (Dec. 1915 attack on Rowno), LZ-39 was badly damaged by enemy fire (all rear gas cells damaged, one engine fell off). While the crew had managed to re-balance the airship and to land it in the German-controlled territory, LZ-39 was written off upon landing) (Image)
