1840 Trans-Atlantic entire from Toronto 3 Ju 1840 to the Governor & Directors of the Canada Company in London England. Has s/l 'PAID' in black plus m/s rates '8' (ship letter fee), '4½' for rate to border and '25' US inland postage. On reverse
has 2-line "LIVERPOOL SHIP LETTER" and 2 Jy 1840 red receiver. Inside has a weekly accounting of the Canada Company land sales. The Canada Company acquired large tracts of land in Southwestern Ontario in the 19th Century & was in charge of selling it
