Scott $17,000.

A part-sheet of 95 stamps was purchased at the McLean, VA post office by a C.I.A. employee for official Agency mail (the five missing stamps having been previously sold to an unknown buyer or buyers and presumably used on mail and lost to philately). Upon spotting the error, nine employees pooled their money, purchased a replacement sheet, and kept the error sheet. Each of the nine employees kept one stamp, selling the remaining stamps (including one damaged in the removal process) to Jacques Schiff, Jr. Of the original sheet's 95 stamps, only 93 sound examples have reached collectors. A plate strip of 20 from a second pane has since been discovered, but is no longer intact.

Two panes of 40 of the New York Stock Exchange Bicentennial have appeared on the market, each containing 28 stamps with black inverted—the famous Stock Exchange Invert—and 12 stamps with black omitted. The first pane to appear on the market was purchased at a post office in a small West Texas town in 1992 and held by the family until December 2001. Its discovery was first reported by Linn's Stamp News in a page 1 story in the March 4, 2002, issue. The pane eventually sold for $488,750 at a Greg Manning Rarities auction held June 16, 2002. The second pane was purchased by Naomi Felblinger, an employee of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, who kept her pane until bringing it to Linn's to examine in August 2005. Linn's published a full report of the discovery of this second Stock Exchange error pane in the Sept. 5, 2005, issue. H.R. Harmer sold the second error pane for $373,750 during a special single-lot auction on Nov. 16, 2005. Both panes have been broken. As of today, 12 have been graded by PSE with grades ranging from 75 to 90.

2189 nh 4806d image2013, Inverted Jenny, miniature sheet of 6, airplane right-side up (Scott 4806d), registered as #19 by USPS and discovered in a lot of 10 purchased from USPS Fulfillment Services in Kansas City with an invoice dated 6/2/15 (months after the supposed suspension of distribution of the right-side up panes), neatly mounted on exhibit page with write up and congratulatory stuffer card that was sealed with the pane in a regular Jenny pane envelope, the sheet was featured on the front cover of the July 27, 2015 edition of Linn's Stamp News, o.g., never hinged, Very Fine, with 2015 P.S.E. certificate graded VF 80.
SMQ VF 80.
Scott $60,000.

2,200,100 souvenir sheets of six were printed: 2,200,000 normal with the Jenny inverted and, unknown to the public, 100 with the Jenny right-side up and randomly distributed to post offices and the fulfillment center in Kansas City. The sheets were sold individually wrapped in cellophane, which collectors questioned at the time of issue. As soon as a right-side up example was discovered by a collector in Ontario, Canada, the USPS then revealed to the public that 100 had been created and randomly seeded throughout their distribution system. The cellophane wrappers were used to prevent searching through stocks for the upright designs—souvenir sheets with opened cellophane were not returnable. We believe, but have been unable to verify, that only 43 sheets of the 100 have been found and registered.
