The Jamestown issue, with its miniscule margins, is one of the most difficult stamps to find in this condition. No other Jamestown stamp in any of the three denominations has achieved a grade equal to this stamp, and we expect that to be the case for many years to come.

One of only four never hinged examples to earn this lofty and impressive grade. This stamp sold at auction in 2020 for $6,750 hammer, another 98J sold at auction in 2019 for $7,500 hammer, and one of the others sold at auction in 2017 for $10,000. Sadly, neither of these realizations had an impact on the SMQ value, which remains unchanged to this day. We have estimated it in line with the SMQ price but expect it to go much higher.
