2195 og 233a image1893, 4¢ Columbian, blue color error (Scott 233a), dark color very comparable to the 1¢ stamp, few hinge marks leave most of gum completely undisturbed and very fresh appearing which most examples are not, uncharacteristically bright white paper, centered to a side as are other known examples (left in this case), completely sound, Fine and elusive in sound condition with minimal disturbance to the gum. Spectrographic analysis confirmed that the same ink was used for the 4¢ Columbian color error and the 1¢ Columbian, with 1966 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificates.
Scott $18,000. (Image) (Image2) (Image3) (All Images)
