487   imageItalian Area, "Filatelia Italiana" Excellent Mint & Used Collection on Pages, 1851-1980, An all-embracing collection of everything Italian on hundreds of quadrille pages with all stamps in black mounts and notated with Scott and/or Sassone number. Not the prettiest of collections, with mounts often misaligned and pencil scribblings on every page, but seriously, what's more important, what is on the page or how it looks?! This is one powerful collection with a great deal in duplication mounted side by side, even the better ones, and a lot both mint and used, some with added blocks. Many items also with certificates, such as used #113 watermarked in letters (Sassone 109aa), 129c (double surcharge), mint B4 (corner block of 12), mint A.M.G. double overprint on 1N11 (Sassone 11c), mint Italian Occupation of Austria N66 in a pair, one without "5" (Sassone 3d), N73a in a pair, two mint Scott-unlisted perf varieties of Fiume 53, one 12¼ (Sassone 56/Ib) and the other 12¾x12¼ (Sassone 56/Iac), 119 with no backprint (Sassone 144t), used 121, and mint Somalia 71 (block of 10). A few very interesting covers as well, like Italy B8 used on a 1922 Buste Lettere Postali (Sassone type "c") and a rocket mail cover sent to Germany in 1934 and signed by Gerhard Zucker, both of these too with certs. Other highlights include Italy mint 46, 52, 117-18, 477, C48-49, Q1, used Q2-5, Italian Occupation of Austria mint N10 (signed), Libya mint 47 (sheet of 50), Somalia 100-03, J5-7 (4), J15-17, Trieste (Zone A) mint 1-17, 18-29, 58-69, C1-6, C13-16, C20-26, E1-4, J7-15, J16-29, Q1-12, Q24, Q26, used C14-16 (3), and many, many more. And just about every area which fell under Italian influence is here including the Aegean Islands, Castellorizo, Cyrenaica, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Lombardy-Venetia, Oltre Giuba, and Tripolitania. Approximately half of this collection can be viewed online via video flips, overall Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 23 lbs. 488   imageItaly & Colonies, A High End All Mint Collection, 1862-2002. A significant collection of several hundred mint sets and singles on Vario black stock pages and in glassines loaded with better sets mint o.g. and N.H. is also present. Huge resale value, all contained in a medium sized box. We note key items from Italy, Italian East Africa, Eritrea, Somalia, Fiume, Cyrenaica and more. Numerous sets in the hundreds of dollars each are included plus we note many better N.H. sets as well. A bit unusual format but quality material is always in demand so look past the glassines. Conditions well above the norm with only a very few faults noted, overall Fine to Very Fine, o.g. or N.H. The owner used Stanley Gibbons pricing on most glassines but not all and some like Italy's Manzoni set complete (Scott $958.) was not priced. Therefore, the S.G. total of £14,000++ doesn't include the Manzoni and other items. Check this lot out and the value adds up quickly. Shipping charges apply - weight 1.8 lbs.
