2901   imageWorldwide, "Joint Venture" Gargantuan Joint Issue Mint & FDC Holding, 1934-2020, What do Malta & Slovakia, China & Switzerland, and Singapore & Russia have in common? Just like France & the USA releasing the Liberty stamp in 1986, all have produced joint issues. The bulk of this lot is the FDCs, many 1000's of them organized chronologically with an enormous amount from the last 20-30 years and all in plastic sleeves or glassines with the issue date. In addition, and equally impressive are eight boxes with an enormous amount of mint stamps, souvenir sheets and booklets, the vast majority mint. Mostly from the modern era, some of it may look unfamiliar, but you will also find British & French Common Design Types, as well as the well-known Europa issues. A truly unique collection and an obvious lifelong passion of the previous collector, generally Fine to Very Fine, should be inspected in person for proper assessment. 2902   imageWorldwide, "A Preoccupation with Occupation" Occupied Areas During WWI & WWII, Almost entirely mint and the vast majority dealing with occupied lands, whether that be the Austrian occupation of Italy, or on the flip side, the Italian occupation of Austria! A few earlier, such as the German occupation of Alsace & Lorraine during the Franco-Prussian War, but otherwise concentrated on the two World Wars and the aftermath. Some of the best material is from Germany, for example, the Zulassungsmarke (admission stamp) of Bohemia & Moravia as listed in Michel, a signed mint set of the German occupation of Pleskau, Russia (Michel #2-9, missing 3), and a number of sets of provisional overprints for the Soviet Zone signed by the German Philatelic Society. Many post-WWII locals as well, such as those on Hitler-Heads. Some sets are backstamped "falsch" but many others too, like Glauchau, Holzhausen, Löbau, Saulgau (signed), Schwarzenberg, and Westerstede. Much more Germany from its colonies to other occupied areas, and much more from around the world, such as the Japanese occupation of the Netherlands Indies, North Borneo and the Philippines, the Greek occupation of Turkey, the Romanian occupation of Hungary, the French occupation of Syria & Lebanon, and the Lithuanian occupation of Memel just to name a few! Be sure to check out this rather unique collection as it is entirely viewable online, overall Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 4.9 lbs. (Video for this lot) (Image)
