2831   imageWorldwide, One Man's Entire Massive and Extraordinary Wide-Ranging Philatelic Holding, A huge and diverse holding delivered to us in over 70 boxes, representing an old-time philatelic pack rat's gathering. To say "anything is possible" with this lot is a definite understatement, as the hunt will reveal scores of various collections in a variety of albums, including premium quality hingeless types, plus dozens of stockbooks, boxes, cover binders, some sorted/semi-sorted material, etc. Some review of this holding has shown good interest in Switzerland, Canada & Provinces, Germany, France, Russia, Vatican and many others, along with various Thematic collections including Scouts and Flights, various auction purchases and balances, etc. Look, folks, there's no way anyone can adequately scratch the surface verbally with this lot, as a holding of this sort includes a wide range of specialities, works in progress, etc. One thing for certain is this lot can provide many months of organizing and hunting pleasure for the collector, or can be the makings of a "business in a box" for the internet trader. In either case, come on by during viewing, pull up a chair, and enjoy. Tough to find another like this, bulk appears Fine to Very Fine. Examine. Shipping charges apply - weight 2000 lbs. (Image)

2832   imageEurope (mostly Western), with British and French Colonies newer issue accumulation, mostly from 1960s-2010s, however, we quickly noticed that much of the value is in the modern issues after 1990, which are missing from most collections and highly sought after, which this accumulation has in abundance. To give you an idea of volume, we counted 11 black dealer counter boxes full of glassines containing approximately 13,000-15,000 glassines, ranging from #4 to #8 size glassines, containing sets, small to medium souvenir sheets, small sheetlets and booklets, approximately 1,000 large European size (210x148mm) approval cards containing many sets and occasional souvenir sheets, some already identified with occasional sets ranging in value from a previous owners catalog value of €20-€70, along with approximately 700 full sheets or oversize souvenir sheets in three large sheet file albums. When we were putting some numbers to the material, it seemed a little daunting because of the range of years and countries, but we quickly conservatively estimated $0.25 for each of the glassines and $1 each for the full sheets and black European approval cards. We are sure you will agree, that many of these glassines and approval cards are worth considerably more when you factor in the vast amount of post 1990 material here, bringing the actual value to much more than our very conservative number., o.g., mostly never hinged, generally Fine to Very Fine. 2833   imageWorldwide, Mind-Numbing Monstrosity with Hidden Treasures Part I, 1849-2005, Given the task of describing this gigantic lot consisting of around 35 albums and even more stockbooks / binders with additional boxes and bins, it is easy to become completely overwhelmed by the sheer volume. We're talking about many tens of thousands of stamps here, some of it neatly tucked away in albums but the majority on stockpages, in glassines or just plain loose. There are a few single country albums and for sure you will find better material, such as an all-mint collection of Japan (1945-74) in a hingeless Lighthouse album, extremely well-filled and with mint #367a, 371, 415, 422, 423, 457, 473a, 479, 480-97, 522 (sheetlet), 525-26, 575a, B11. Much more Japan too in two other albums with some exceptional classics, a folder of revenues and much more. Next up, a mostly used collection of Germany (1872-1977) with such better used as 1-10, 14-21, 25 (signed), 28, B8-11, B15-18, B23-27, B31-32, B34-37, B44-48, B55a, B56-57, B59-67, B91-92, B104, B310-13, B314-15, B316-17, B318-19, B320-23, B327-30, C20-26, C27-34, C35-37, C38-39, C40-42, C43-45, and Berlin 9N35-41, 9N61-63, 9N70-79, NB2-3. There's a stockbook and album of U.S. Possessions with mint Philippines 218, 220, 229, 233-34, 325, lots of U.S. face mostly in the form of blocks, lots of Asia, like an approval book, a boxful of Taiwan on paper, a box of Japanese covers, a packed 4-volume set of Harris Worldwide albums, lots of Latin America, British Commonwealth, a binder of modern Irish FDCs, a large box chaotic box of worldwide off paper, nearly 200 tête-bêche/gutter/se-tenant pairs of Switzerland with many scarcer, like used 172c, 197a, 232a and mint 152a, 172c, B2a, as well as sheet B229a, a box of "102" cards, etc. And you're never quite sure what might be waiting lurking in that shoebox you haven't checked yet. There were a couple of binders with worldwide souvenir sheets and some premium ones indeed, like Belgian Congo B26, China 471, and Portugal 602a & 614a, but when I happened across a good-looking White Plains sheet, I had to ask the question, "What is this doing here?" And there were more similar instances, such as opening a tub of French Colonies and the very first thing I pull out is a glassine with two mint copies of St. Pierre et Miquelon C25. Or when I opened a hingeless Schaubek album of Canada, at first thinking it was empty; there wasn't much there but it did have mint 29, 34-36, 42, 249-62, C2-4, etc. And then out of nowhere, Eritrea mint 6 on a stockcard, Canada used 61 on a "102" card, Iceland mint C2 on a counter page, and Austria used C58 in a glassine. Unfortunately, there is just so much time we can spend on an individual lot. Considering the scope of this one, I could have easily spent weeks rummaging through and still only have scratched the surface. A few additional images are online, but you really want to examine this one on-site, overall Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 500 lbs. 2834   imageWorldwide, Mind-Numbing Monstrosity with Hidden Treasures Part II, 1840-2000s, From the same consignor, this monstrosity is even bigger than the first one! And this accumulation is a perfect example of a "mañana" collection; what I mean by that, is you will find box after box labeled either "to sort", "for further study" or "to check", you know, something I will get to when I retire. For whatever reason, a lot of this stuff looks untouched for many decades and beyond. There are 35 albums in this lot, some single country, like a hingeless Lighthouse with a very well-filled mint collection of Austria (1945-85) and such better as #536-38, 556, B260-63, B269-71, a nearly complete Ryukyus mint collection in a White Ace album with mint 14-15, 18, C1-3, and an additional binder with about 100 full sheets, a Canada album with a considerable amount of mint and much more face value throughout this lot, a mint Indonesia collection with 59, 61, 65b, 118, a very attractive topical collection on trains, and numerous, very corpulent worldwide albums. About 30 other binders with varying contents, such as two binders filled with Swiss PTT-Sammelblätter, complete ranges 144-76 (with first day cancel) & 201-33, almost all with added FDCs and bunches more loose, two binders of mint Bhutan with premium sets 105-05D, 105E (perf & imperf), 152-52F, and a binder filled with interesting items mostly on the subject of human rights and the World Refugee Year 1959-60 containing the following material: FDC of Belgium B662a as well as a mint copy, a signed die proof of Cameroun 332, Chilean souvenir sheets footnoted in Scott (after C220D, overprinted SS of C221, SS of 330 & C218), an imperf die proof of France B340, and, for some reason, U.S. postage currency PC8. Tons more to discover in folders, stacks of old album pages, tubs and shoeboxes. To give you a taste, stocksheets with mint Japanese souvenir sheets, like 283a (with folder), 306a (with folder)(2), 318a (with folder)(2), 323a (2), 463a, and a souvenir folder featuring such stamps as 479 & 517a, tubs of Asia, Russia, Latin America, and others, a commemorative panel by Fleetwood called "Year of the Dragon" featuring every PRC stamp issued for the Chinese New Year in the 80's, sans the Monkey stamp. In this same folder are four full sheets of 2976. There's a box of Germany with folders containing Rheinland-Pfalz mint 6NB6a and Wurttemberg used 8N28-37, and mint 8NB4a, as well as counter pages with various locals, a boxful of Taiwan, a booklet containing 26 souvenir sheets from Laos' first issue, many former auction lots, like mint never-hinged United States plate number strip of 3 with imprint of 265 (2), plate blocks of 833 (2), 834 (3), and a plate block of 6 of 528 with monogram over plate #. And did I mention covers? Probably over 1,000 with many older FDCs, First Flights and other special events and many 19th century including Great Britain #1. Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Place your bid now! overall Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 750 lbs. (PDF for this Lot) (Video for this lot) (Image)

2837   imageWorldwide, "The Melting Pot" Accumulation of Mostly Better Material, 1865-2000s, Large adventure lot, a bit chaotic, but that's part of the fun! Stockcards, counter pages, "102" cards, folders and glassines all filled with stamps, and a good chunk of it better material, from premium souvenir sheets, like Cyprus #226a, Czechoslovakia 200, Monaco 159, Netherlands B144a-45a, Vatican 155a, to other random items, such as mint Canada 34-37, 38 (no gum), 41, 43-45, 69, 71, 104-22, MR2C, O27, Vatican C18-19, and Great Britain used 42, 103, 105, 107, 122, 126. But what really makes this lot so engaging is the amount of stuff you don't see everyday, for example, a set of French semi-official airmails from 1923 (Sanabria 22-27), a very early Canadian precancel on the 1¢ Jubilee issue, an unlisted inverted overprint on French Offices in China 18, Paraguayan color proofs on a stockcard, three Israeli coil rolls of the Zodiac series (190, 195, 216), a large envelope of Australian OS perfins, the "Malmlund" postal forgery of Finland (Facit 58 Iv3), Belgian definitives with advertising labels, Hungarian misperfs, Costa Rican specimens, a complete pane of five of California's 1974 Duck stamp, and, need I say more? 2838   imageWorldwide, "Everyone Loves a Good Mystery" Mint & Used Accumulation with Hidden Gems, 1844-2000, A gigantic pile of many thousands of stamps and covers in glassines, "102" cards and auction cards. Yes, many of these items were former auction lots from around the country and feature many premium items. Here's just a brief sampling: Australia mint #50 (imprint gutter pair), Canada mint 54, 57, Cape of Good Hope used 2-6, Ceylon used 6A, Germany MNH 441 (block of four), Great Britain used 140, 179-80, Greece mint 197 (signed Brun), 538, Nepal mint 118 (block of four), Netherlands mint GY4, Switzerland used B4-6, Wurttemberg used 40 (with PF certificate). And there is surely a lot more to be uncovered but you will need to take a closer look. And I mean a really close look, because just about anything is liable to turn up. Opening envelopes from a stack, I pulled out a set of gorgeous NH labels from the 1906 International Exhibition in Milan, a corner margin block of eight of Sudanese Military Telegraph stamps, a stockcard with Hermes' Heads, and £50 Consular Service stamps of Britain. And that was within five minutes! There is so much more to this lot, from over 200 French proofs from around the year 2000, to dozens of U.S. Federal Ducks, like mint RW4, RW28-30 and plate blocks of RW43-46. If you love lots like this, and seriously, who doesn't, you will want to set aside some time to unlock some of the secrets this lot holds, generally Fine to Very Fine. 2840   imageWorldwide, Huge Scott International Collection, with pages from 1840s-2010s, a total of over 65 albums, with the main collection on Scott International pages, with some homemade computer-generated supplements, in over 50 albums, plus an additional 15 albums that seem to either be duplicates or albums which have not had their supplements updated. We did not have time to check to make sure every country was represented and that there was not duplication of some countries, so you may want to take some time and spot check. These albums could greatly decrease the expense of new album pages by thousands of dollars and the tens of thousands of different stamps included will be a bonus. At a low estimate that starts at less than $50 per album, it is hard to see how you could possibly go wrong here. If you want to figure this collection by the stamp count, there are enough to sell these in mini collections at a dime per stamp and make a decent profit. 2846   imageWorldwide, "Random Acts of Stamps" Mint & Used Accumulation with Covers, Mostly older material and that's immediately apparent by the sight of brittle, loose album pages, bags of old stamps still on paper, stockbooks without their cover, and albums published eons ago. Thousands, probably tens of thousands of stamps, a bit of it organized, like a stockbook of mint & used Wildings & Machins and another of the Soviet Union, but much of it more or less at random. But after spotting some nice U.S. classics and dozens of GB Seahorses, this is the type of adventure lot worth further investigation. Overall, a lot of British Commonwealth, especially Bermuda, from which the collector was from, overall Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 122 lbs. 2849   imageWorldwide, Beaucoup Mass of Stamps and Covers, with US, 1850s-2000s, approximately 250 albums and stockbooks, packed full of dross, which needs to be sorted and mined to find the occasional small treasures floating about. While we were sorting through this lot we found little pockets of useful items which could be refined into some decent lots with retail potential. Some areas of note include: a 38-volume section of U.S. first day covers, with sections of modern covers from the 2000's-2010's along with thousands of covers scattered about the remaining albums, three volumes of modern Cuba with some interesting more modern or topical issues, a section of Crosby naval covers, three albums of U.S. gold plated stamp replica first day covers, a decent little collection of Canada, occasional topical mint sheets and postage. A person could literally sort through everything and throw away 90% of the volume and walk away with some great saleable groups. When we were calculating the value, we figured it would be hard to go wrong at less than $10 a book, but then we decided to go even lower to end up with a low estimate of $8 a book with a much lower start price. At this low price, we are practically giving it away to the treasure hunter who has the time to do the sorting, Fine to Very Fine appearance. Shipping charges apply - weight 950 lbs. (Image)

The first is a large make shift stock book of album pages and manila stock cards filled with US revenues and back of the book stamps, but the interesting pages that caught our attention were the pages of Cigar, Tobacco, Playing Cards, Sales Tax and various other extreme back of the book issues.
