1385 nh RW51x imageHunting Permit, 1984, $7.50 Widgeons, Special Printing (Scott RW51x), horizontal gutter pair, o.g., never hinged, Post Office fresh and sound, right stamp with "Special Comm. Issue" handstamp on gum, both stamps with Sheet XIV positions (2-11 & 1-15) noted in pencil, Fine to Very Fine, with photocopy of 1987 P.F. certificate for sheet.


After #RW51 became void, 15 uncut press sheets of 120 (4 panes of 30 separated by gutters) were overprinted "1934-84" and "50th ANNIVERSARY" in the margins. Fourteen of these were auctioned by the US Fish & Wildlife Service, with one sheet donated to the Smithsonian. Sheet number and stamp positions were noted in pencil on the back of each stamp. Scott notes but does not price this special printing.
