5052 og RN-G1 var. imageRevenue Stamped Paper, 1875-83, Liberty Type G, 2¢ orange inscribed "SAMPLE" (Scott RN-G1 var.), salesman's sample book from New York printers, Corlies, Macy & Co. containing 23 mint checks from actual banks, 21 of them with the orange Liberty imprint inscribed "SAPMLE" below the vignette and "INVALID FOR ACTUAL USE" below the imprint; all with the Corlies, Macy imprint; the cover is printed in gold on black, pebble-surfaced stock and the book is perfect-bound; overall size is about 8¾" x 3½" and the whole is incredibly fresh and well preserved, though the upper right corner is very lightly bent barely affecting the checks and mentioned only for strict accuracy, still Very Fine.
