1875 Re-issue of the 1869 Pictorial Issue (123-133)
LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
224 P 123TC4-132TC4 image1869 (1875 Re-issue), 1¢ to 90¢ "Atlanta" trial color plate proofs on card complete (Scott 123TC4-132TC4), a spectacular and visually dazzling complete set of Atlantas (less the unique 90¢ green & black); nearly all immaculate (one or two with truly minor toned spots of no consequence), and each with the razor-sharp detail and blazing color you'd expect; several show part-arrows in margins which are, to an item, full to large and near-perfectly balanced, Very Fine, By far, one of the most attractive sets of proofs, with this one in exemplary quality that would satisfy the most discriminating connoisseur.

Only one sheet of 100 in each color was printed, for display at Atlanta's 1881 International Cotton Exhibition. Very few intact sets remain.
