Abraham Lincoln Free Frank as President, clear "A Lincoln" signature on an envelope addressed by
Lincoln to "Hon. H.B. Anthony, U.S. Senate"; the cover seems to have been franked by Lincoln with the intention of sending via the Post Office but, without postal markings, it was apparently hand-carried to the senator; a small spot of erosion
slightly affects the "te" of "Senate", otherwise fresh and Very Fine. A marvelous Lincoln free frank, with 2020 P.F. certificate.
Henry Bowen Anthony was a prominent Whig and later Republican politician. Originally a newspaper editor, he
served as Governor of Rhode Island before being elected to the U.S. Senate, where he served from December 1862, until his death in September 1884. He was a staunch supporter of Lincoln and his policies during the Civil War. (Image) (Image2)
