Enclosed is the original letter, dated Jan 1, from stamp collector Henry Pennypacker to the U.S. Consul in Hamilton, Henry W. Beckwith, in part, "I am one of those hapless persons who collect postage stamps…" and asking if Mr. Beckwith might know of someone with whom he might exchange U.S. stamps for those of Bermuda. The reason the letter was returned to Boston is revealed in a notation at the top of the letter, signed by the then-current Vice-Consul, stating that Mr. Beckwith had died in August of 1891. This cover was prepared by Camden, N.J. collector, Dr. George D.
