680   imageGermany, Hindenburg smoker's receptacle, serially numbered 4½" x 7½" paper bag, printed on both sides—one side in German, the other in English—in which smokers were to place their matches and lighters before going on board. The bags were then to be given to the Steward, the passengers retaining the numbered corner of the bag as a receipt. A very rare hindenburg collectible, numbered 996, in marvelous mint condition.

The smoking room was closely monitored at all times by a member of
Hindenburg'sstaff, and only one electric lighter was provided; no matches, lighters, or other open flames were allowed anywhere on the airship. (Image)
