108 253PP1 imageNewfoundland, 1941, 1¢ dark gray, plate proof on watermarked stamp paper (Scott 253PP1), an unusual group of three blocks of 4, each slightly different: 1.) a 1.5mm security punch in each stamp; 2.) a 3.5mm security punch in each stamp; and 3.) a 2.5mm security punch in each stamp and a central 8mm security punch in the block; block 1 has a Waterlow tape repair across the top stamps; block 2 has a double horizontal crease across the bottom stamps and a small stain in the upper left stamp, o.g., never hinged, otherwise Very Fine. Quite possibly a unique set.
