New Zealand, 1945 (Jan. 25, 28) North Island Rail Strike Emergency Air Flights (NZAMC 254c, 254t). As a result of a rail strike on the North Island, the government ordered
the RNZAF to fly passengers and mail Jan 24-28, 1945. Two (2) covers, one flown New Plymouth to Auckland on 25th; the other Wellington to Gisborne on the 28th (backstamp Gisborne 28JA45 10AM). Second has private single-line cachet.

New Zealand, 1946-48 RNZAF Flights from Occupied Japan to NZ. After the war NZ provided occupation troops in Japan. Mail was flown by the RNZAF to and from these troops. Two (2)
examples of such mail, one an Air Letter mailed in 1946 from NZAPO 222 in Japan to Littleton, NZ, and the other a cover from same APO addressed to Auckland in 1948, with outstanding "Hubba-Hubba" cachet. Both transported free of postage.
