Lakehurst letterhead dated Dec 30, 1929, and signed by H.M. Dietzman, Production Engineer: 1.) "a small piece of one of the two parachutes carried on the U.S.S. Shenandoah on her disastrous flight"; 2.) a "piece of printed fabric…the kind and quality of cotton cloth used for the outer cover of the U.S.S. Los Angeles" which "was made in England for the Zeppelin Company in Germany, the builders of the Los Angeles"; and 3.) a piece of aluminized fabric "representative of the kind of fabric now used on the Los Angeles and is fast replacing the fabric used by the Germans.".
