Hagenbeck Wallace Cirrcus named for Carl Hagenbeck, the great German wild animal trainer & dealer in wild animals who came to America about 1900. In 1904 Carl organized a Wild Animal Show and took it on tour in 1905-1906
and then sold the show and name to Ben Wallace. It suffered a railroad disaster when a troop train rammed the circus train in 1918. In 1930 it was acquired by the Ringlings. The Ringlings leased out the 1937-1938 shows bringing it to the end. (Image)
