PERTH, W.A.' double-ring oval d/s in violet (unrecorded in PMI), paid 1/- for a 1lb parcel to the UK, on arrival British 'Westn Australia [ ]/FOREIGN AND COLONIAL PARCEL POST' label with 'ROAD-BORNE...' portion excised from U/R affixed on face charging a further "-/8"(d) for inland delivery, largely affixed to the original parcel wrapping with a couple of minor edge faults.

790 c image1908 (June 10) Italian postcard addressed to "Capt Jenks, RMS Orotava, Fremantle" with Swan 1d pink tied Perth machine cancel, received after the ship had departed with 'RECd TOO LATE/ ..."11/6/08"...' & 'ORIENT-ROYAL MAIL LINE OF STEAMERS' h/s in violet applied at the Shipping Company offices, re-addressed to "Tilbury Docks, London", light fold & minor blemishes. The message - written by a child presumably after sailing out to Perth on the ship - includes "I still wish I was on board the Orotava playing cricket. I still remember you".

793 L image'The Royal Philatelic Collection' edited by Sir John Wilson (1952), being a complete catalogue of the most important and valuable stamp collection ever formed, compiled by the Keeper of the Royal Collection himself, the standard edition bound in red cloth with the Royal coat-of-arms emblazoned in gold on the face. Without doubt, this is the finest philatelic book of all time, produced on the highest-quality paper, extensively illustrated with 64 black & white plates and 12 exceptional colour plates, some very minor spotting at the long edge of the pages. Weighs 7kg. [Less well known but also less often offered than the deluxe leather-bound edition. The production costs were so high that the publishers, the Dropmore Press, were bankrupted]
